Complex Technology Range – Deployable Austere Shoot House (DASH)
Proxenus was engaged by the Australian Army to lead the design, delivery, and certification of the Deployable Austere Shoot House (DASH) – a first-of-its-kind urban combat shooting range.
As part of the Australian-Singapore Military Training Initiative (ASMTI), the Army needed a Landworthy, low-cost solution to support live-fire urban operations training. Proxenus was tasked with delivering a safe, durable prototype and a clear path to technical certification.
Through complete systems engineering. Proxenus managed requirements, design, construction, and certification activities.
Key milestones included firing 30,000 rounds during testing, achieving first-of-class Landworthiness certification, and delivering just-in-time support. DASH now serves as a certified capability in Army’s training framework, with more ranges rolling out nationwide under Proxenus’s continued support.
Combat Shooting Realism – ILTS
Proxenus was selected as managing contractor for the Army’s Integrated Land Targetry System (ILTS) – Project BARMINI.
Tasked with delivering cutting-edge target systems, Proxenus focused on two key areas: enhancing Infantry marksmanship through realistic targetry, and developing specialised systems for Armoured and Cavalry training.
The team also played a critical role in supporting ILTS’s transition into a formal CASG Program Office.
Proxenus rapidly delivered and certified a wide range of combat shooting targets across Defence Training Areas, including Corflute™ and steel targets, as well as introducing robotic systems like Marathon and RAIDER.
Developed with Deakin University, RAIDER enabled live-fire moving target engagement for vehicle-mounted and static weapons. These systems now form the core of Army’s target training capability.
